French Toast

 Ingredients (By Volume)

  • 1 large egg (~50 ml)
  • 3 tbsp milk (~45 ml)
  • 1/2 tsp sugar (~2.5 ml)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (~1.25 ml) (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon powder (~1.25 ml) (optional)
  • 2 slices bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 1/2 tbsp butter (~7 ml) or cooking oil for frying
  • Maple syrup/honey/powdered sugar (for serving)

Induction Wattage Levels & Cooking Timings

1. Preparing the Batter

  • In a bowl, whisk together egg, milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into a flat plate for easy dipping.

2. Heating the Pan

  • Set induction to 700W (low-medium heat)
  • Heat a non-stick pan and melt butter (or add oil). This takes about 1 minute.

3. Cooking the French Toast

  1. Dip one bread slice into the egg mixture for 5 seconds per side, allowing it to absorb without getting too soggy.
  2. Place the bread on the heated pan.
  3. Cook at 700W for 2 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  4. Flip and cook for 1.5-2 minutes on the other side.

(If using thicker bread, cook for an extra 30 seconds per side.)

4. Serving

  • Plate the French toast and top with honey, maple syrup, or powdered sugar.
  • Enjoy warm!
